We’re British, so let’s talk about the weather

Are you a summer person, living for the long days, warm sunshine and feeling of freedom? Or do you prefer the crisp, colourful days of autumn when the evenings start to draw in, you light the fire for the first time and start planning Christmas festivities? Whichever is your favourite, we’re so lucky here in the UK to experience all the seasons in their glory. Spring days, when gardens and hedgerows come to life with such colour after months of grey and brown. Waking up on a freezing winter morning to a blanket of snow and the very real possibility the roads will be impassable until it goes… The contrast between it all means our landscapes change and there’s always something new on the horizon! Of course, the slight downside is that you really can’t rely on our weather to play ball.

Whilst last summer was a triumph of sunshine and heatwaves, so far, this one hasn’t quite lived up to expectations. There have been a few spells of hot sunshine, but plenty of rain and overcast days too. And here, on our occasionally damp little island, a waterproof jacket is always on the list when you’re packing for a summer holiday. And that also means you need smart layers to stay comfortable underneath. You know how it goes – rain showers one moment and then sunshine the next! Without a breathable top underneath, you can end up a little sticky and warm under that jacket.

Our long-sleeved tees are perfect for summer adventures. Just like the much-loved roll necks, they are crafted from breathable and moisture-wicking bamboo fabric but in a lighter weight weave to help you stay just the right temperature. The scoop neck and slightly longer cut in the body and sleeves ensures the tees are flattering and easy to wear. They are oh so silky that you might just find you never want to take them off! So, if you’re busy planning packing lists for a staycation this summer, make sure you take a closer look at our long-sleeved tees (and maybe some sleeveless polos too, in case the sun does come out!).

We’ve also got some exciting news for our customers and followers – it’s new product development time here at Ginger & Jardine HQ! Our founder Lynne has been working on a very special project to collaborate with Glaze and Gordon, a family-run business selling stylish equestrian and country collection products from trusted artisans and boutique brands across Great Britain, Europe and the Americas. Make sure you keep a very close eye on our social media for more news when we’re allowed to share it!
